What is “The Heights”?
From 1898 until June, 1973, The Heights campus was the home of NYU University College of Arts and Science (now NYU’s College of Arts & Science), and the School of Engineering. The campus features the National Historic site designed by Stanford White in the last years of the 19th Century: Gould Memorial Library (bearing the inscription “Library of New York University”), flanked by Philosophy Hall, Language Hall, and the original Hall of Fame for Great Americans (which was the basis for all subsequent “Hall of Fame” exhibits throughout the world). In 1973, the campus was sold to the New York State Dormitory Authority for CUNY’s Bronx Community College.
What is Pilgrimage?
“Pilgrimage to The Heights” is a gathering of alumni of NYU’s University College of Arts and Science and College of Engineering.
